Information for customers about Coronavirus - (Covid-19)

The news is currently full of reports about coronavirus. As it’s highly unlikely that the threat is going to disappear any time soon we are looking to change our approach at Stonewater in line with government advice.

The wellbeing, health and safety of all customers, colleagues, contractors and suppliers remains our first priority. It’s still vitally important that although Coronavirus is rightly a national priority, our essential work as housing providers must continue.

We’re making some changes to limit the spread of infection and we may need to delay any non-essential repairs if the situation demands it. We’ll continue to provide a full range of services, it’s just we'll be delivering some of them in different ways.

Government have now advised people they should stay at home and away from other people if they have a high temperature or a new continuous cough.

If you’re self-isolating, or you’ve been confirmed as having Covid-19, please make our Customer Services team aware on 01202 319 119 so that we don’t put you, our employees or contractors at risk.

We also understand the heightened concern that you may have with people coming into your home. So, if you have a scheduled visit from us and you’d like to change this to a later date, we’d be happy to do this, just give us a call on the number above.

It’s important that you still continue to allow us to carry out safety checks in your home.

We’ve stepped up our cleaning processes and all our employees and tradesmen are fully aware of the specific steps they need to take to keep themselves and you safe, minimising the chances of spreading the infection. We’re also asking our employees to find flexible ways of working differently, such as contacting you by email, social media, and video call or by phone where that makes sense.

We will continue to monitor the situation carefully over the days ahead and will update this page and our social media channels should things change, so please keep checking back for further updates.

In the meantime continue to follow the advice from Public Health England avoid contact with people who are unwell, wash your hands regularly, cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze and try to avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. All the latest information, advice and facts about coronavirus are available on the gov.uk website.

The situation is changing rapidly, so we’ll keep in touch and continue to review the service levels we’re able to provide. We’ll do what we can to minimise any impact on our services to you, but please bear with us if we have to do things differently over the coming weeks or months.

Information for our Retirement Leaseholders during Covid-19

We have a directory of local support available to help you at this time. This includes healthcare, help from your local council, community groups who can support you, assistance with food deliveries and shopping, and opportunities to improve your health and wellbeing (e.g. through telephone befriending).

If you would like to find out more about accessing local support, please raise this during your daily welfare call with a Stonewater staff member (this will usually be your Scheme Manager). Support options vary between different local authorities, so they will be able to direct you to the help available in your area.
